Hiring & Training Policy

Last updated: 12 December 2024

This policy explains how ClickPlick recruits, trains, and pays self-employed photobooth operators. By applying to work with us, you confirm that you have read and accept the terms below.

1. Engagement basis

All operators work with ClickPlick on a self-employed basis. You are not an employee or worker of ClickPlick, and no employment relationship is created by applying, training, or working with us.

2. Application and trial session

Before working on live events, every applicant attends a trial/training session. During this session you will:

  • Shadow an experienced operator at a live or simulated event
  • Be shown how to set up, operate, and pack down the photobooth equipment
  • Practise customer-facing service under supervision

Trial sessions are unpaid. This is explained to every applicant before the session is booked, and applies equally to all operators — it is not decided case by case. We invest significant time and cost in training each new operator, and the trial session exists to confirm both that you can do the job and that the role suits you before any paid engagement begins.

3. Payment structure

  • The standard rate for self-employed operators is £13 per hour.
  • Payment for the unpaid trial session is made retroactively, once you have completed ten (10) live events with us. If you complete ten events, your trial session is paid at the standard rate as part of that milestone.
  • Rates advertised by third parties (job boards, listings, etc.) do not form part of your terms with ClickPlick. Your rate is the one confirmed directly with you in writing before your trial session.
  • All engagement terms, including pay and the trial policy, are confirmed in writing before your trial session begins. We ask every applicant to acknowledge these terms in writing (email or signed form) before attending.

4. What we look for in training

To progress from trial to paid events, an operator needs to demonstrate:

  • Punctuality and reliability
  • Ability to independently set up and operate the booth equipment
  • Professional, friendly customer service
  • Good communication with the ClickPlick team and on-site clients

Applicants who are unable to demonstrate independent equipment setup by the end of the trial session may be offered a further session, referred to other roles better suited to their strengths, or not offered further work, at ClickPlick's discretion.

5. Conduct

We expect professional conduct from every applicant and operator, both on-site and in communications with our team. This includes punctuality, respectful communication, and following instructions from event leads and supervisors. Repeated lateness, failure to complete required training, or unprofessional conduct toward staff or clients may result in an applicant not being offered further work.

6. Questions or disputes

If you have questions about pay, training, or this policy, contact us at Info.ClickPlick@gmail.combefore your trial session. We're happy to clarify anything in writing so expectations are clear on both sides.

This policy is provided for general information and does not itself constitute a contract. Specific terms for each operator are confirmed individually in writing.
